This redesign preserves LUJO's contact information and the original free-estimate workflow while making the services easier to find and understand.

Recovered website

The March 25, 2025 Internet Archive snapshot was the latest successful homepage capture returned by the archive index during this research. It confirms the phone number (267) 969-8069, email lujocontracting@gmail.com, South Jersey positioning, free estimates, and kitchen, roofing/siding, painting, plumbing and flooring services.

The original site used WordPress and Contact Form 7, asking for name, email, phone, project address and message. This redesign preserves those fields, adding a service selector. It does not claim that the old WordPress backend is connected.

Photography & brand

Stock photography is licensed imagery, not open-source software. The temporary stock photos below are available for commercial website use under their respective licenses. They are clearly marked as inspiration, not LUJO's completed projects.

The archived project index and sampled project detail pages were empty or contained generic theme/demo material. No verified completed-job photographs could be recovered. The recovered carpenter photo was the old homepage banner, not evidence of a LUJO job. Add owner-approved before/after photos and accurate project descriptions before promoting a completed-work portfolio.

What works now

Call and SMS links, service selection, a validated two-step estimate form and mobile navigation. No account, payment, tracking scripts or database is required.

Estimate requests are emailed automatically to lujocontracting@gmail.com by send.php (requires PHP hosting). The website does not store requests. If sending fails, visitors get a prepared email draft instead. No booking or appointment is confirmed by completing the form.

Designed for South Jersey homeowners

The design leads with the practical questions a homeowner needs answered: what jobs LUJO handles, where the team is based, whether small repairs are welcome, how to discuss cost and timing, and how to reach a real person. Gibbsboro and South Jersey are stated prominently without inventing a list of covered towns. Plain American English, job examples, free-estimate calls to action and mobile call/text links replace vague luxury messaging.

This is a homeowner-focused design approach, not a claim that everyone in New Jersey thinks alike or that conversion gains have been measured. Real customer feedback should guide further improvements. Reviews, registration, insurance, guarantees and response-time promises should only be added after verification.

A better system for the next stage

1. Centralize inquiries: forward requests from send.php to a contractor CRM such as Jobber or Housecall Pro so every lead is tracked in one place.
2. Make photos easy: add secure photo uploads with file-type and size limits, retention rules, abuse protection and an explicit privacy notice. Do not send sensitive uploads through a public folder.
3. Keep the process visible: use lead stages: New inquiry, Contacted, Site visit, Estimate sent, Approved, Scheduled, Complete. Assign an owner to every new inquiry.
4. Book only real availability: add consultation scheduling after service-area and job-fit checks. Show times from a connected calendar rather than promising instant or emergency availability.
5. Build real trust: publish owner-approved project photos and verified review links. Confirm current registration, insurance, service boundaries and specialty-trade arrangements before making credential claims.

Running & publishing

Requires Node.js 20 or newer. Run npm test to validate the website, npm run dev for local development, and npm run build to create the production website in dist. Run npm run preview to check that build. Upload the contents of dist (including send.php and .htaccess) to PHP hosting over HTTPS. No npm dependencies or external image requests are needed.

The included local server is a development/preview helper, not a production hosting service. Before launch, configure the canonical domain and absolute social-preview image URL, verify current business information,. The included .htaccess sets security headers on Apache or LiteSpeed hosting.
